Surgery - Early stage ovarian cancer can be treated by removing the affected ovary and its fallopian tube. However if both the ovaries seem affected the surgery to remove both the ovaries and their fallopian tubes is done. Advanced cases require removal of both the ovaries, fallopian tubes and the uterus. This surgery will mean that you will not be able to get pregnant but becomes necessary to save the life of the patient. In some cases chemotherapy is done prior to the surgery to shrink the size of the tumour so that surgical results are better.
Radiation and Chemotherapy are sometimes used in conjunction with the surgery or even separately.
